Ask a Question

I have been a long time user and recently I have become very frustrated with this product. Uploading to Wordpress has become a complete nightmare. Every time i try to upload my theme I 1st get the waring about being to large, 11MB, then when i try aanyway i get this error,

enter image description here
So I tried a few thing to increase limits in WP like creating a php.ini file, but nothing works. Mind you i am only uploading 1 PAGE.
I then tried to install the theme through Plesk, my control panel for my hosting provider, and i try up loading from there, and guess what? I get this error: The theme you tried to upload does not have a name specified in its metadata. Add a valid name to the metadata and try uploading again. So i added the name in the meta data field in settings and tried again and same result!
I used to be able to save as a .zip and upload it was VERY easy..
Now for another gripe. Why when i try to publish your domain cannot be changed? according to the screenshot i should be able to but I cannot:
enter image description here

it tells me i can only use letters and numbers.
And why do I have to add a A Record with your IP address? I own my domain and i should not have to go and edit domain records.
Please help me with these issues and make it fun to design and upload websites.

the screen shown is only for sites posted on nicepage servers. in order to post on your domain with wordpress or joomla you only need to export your site by clicking the appropriate sections for wordpress or joomla, as I show you in the picture:

Thank you for your response. I have tried exporting to wordpress and I keep getting the error in my first screenshot. And when trying to import the template through my control panel I get the other error that there's no name involved. I have done many WordPress sites and it's always been so easy but I'm not understanding the time out error and the file I'm uploading is only 11 MB

Hi Tom,

Please create another private ticket, or we can convert the current one - https://nicepage.com/Forum/Topic/Create?private=1
Attach the problem theme. Also, let us know the limitation values used for:
post_max_size
upload_max_filesize
memory_limit

directives in the file php.ini and provide temporary access to your website back-end (wp-admin) panel.

We'll check this issue on our side.

Now for another gripe. Why when i try to publish your domain cannot be changed? according to the screenshot i should be able to but I cannot:

Regarding the issue with the publishing, please elaborate more on that. Would be great if you can create another ticket for this issue.

And why do I have to add a A Record with your IP address?

If you are using Nicepage hosting with your domain name, you need to associate your website on Nicepage hosting with your domain name. If
Please check our documentation below.

I own my domain and i should not have to go and edit domain records.

If you won't do this, there won't be any connection between the domain name and your website published on the Nicepage hosting.

Thank you

Ahmad.
