Hi folks,
Seriously it is exceedingly annoying that Nice Page auto saves during the development process and especially on
shutdown of Nicepage.
Normal development offers small changes to any project whether it be a web page or software. Having autosave
without the developer choice of enabling or disabling is simply bad news.
Many changes I make during a development cycle are not required but simply done to see the change and assess its
viability. However Nicepage autosave does not allow me to do these. Even closing Nicepage still saves the changes.
Please please please allow us to disable this autosave it wastes so much of my time it is crazy. Even showing clients
the page is frustrating when they say "no I prefer it before the last change, please revert.".

Hi Tony,

Thank you for your comments.
Unfortunately, it is not as easy as it seems. Application development is not as easy as it seems in general. Even the small change requires a lot of work (discussing, planning, implementation, a few layers of testing). We have not received a lot of complaints about autosave. Therefore this request does not have high priority in our backlog, unfortunately.

Hello,
Sorry to say that is not a good answer. However here is my suggestion for a resoulution.

  1. In the settings dialog add a single checkbox for "Disable Autosave". Default is unchecked.
  2. Save the check box on exit from the dialog.
  3. Load the "Disable Autosave" on program start.
  4. When Nicepage is to save automatically, test the variable on entry to the function/procedure to save for checked.
  5. If is is checked then simply exit from the Autosave function/procedure.
    Done.
    No issues anywhere.
    Simple.

This method should be implementable in an hour or so with testing.
Only a few lines of code to add/change.

TIA :)

Hi,

We're still discussing the possibility to disable autosave as the implementation of this feature causes some difficulties in the logic of Nicepage work (at what moment the autosave should be initiated in order not to lose changes, when the "ask to save" dialog is more suitable, etc.).

If you're interested in this feay=ture please vote for this topic.

It has already been described many times but Nicepage probably has more important things to do and not some stupid autosave. :(
