What format do I need to put in the canonical field? Say for a URL of: https://mysite.com/pictures

Hi, Jim,

in this field, just set a URL of a page. For example: https://mysite.com/pictures for one page and https://mysite.com/about for another page.
Do it for every page of your site and it will work correctly.

Let us know if you need our further help!

I don't need to add the .HTML extension? Because one time, I published the site and checked the box "do not add . HTML, " and the site got all 404 error messages. So, for example, should I post as: https://mysite.com/pictures.html

Hi, Jim,

If you publish your site with .html in your links, you should specify it for canonical links.

Clarify please, do you face the same issue after updating Nicepage to the latest version?

I just published it again with the box checked "create without . HTML," and for any other page besides the home page, I still get the 404 messages. My site is https://cozystormshelters.com, if that helps. It would be great if it would work, as I'm afraid to start using it to replace my https://cozycaverns.com website because the backlinks will fail, hurting my rankings. My cozycaverns.com doesn't show a . HTML extension, but all the pages work. I don't understand how that works. I would love to use the nicepage version. It looks so much better. I hope you can help.

Hi, Jim,

We are terribly sorry for the delay.

Our developers are currently investigating the issue with custom domains for Nicepage Hosting and removing .html from links. We hope that it will be fixed soon. Sorry for the inconvenience.
