I just wanted to make sure that the Nicepage Pro license I bought is a perpetual license, and only the right to get upgrades is a yearly (not obligatory) fee.

Yes, in 2022 you had a Pro License but after that you have updated it as a Pro Subscription. So now you have a subscription only and it gives you access to the application with the premium features for one year, after this year the application will work in a free mode.
The Subscription option is cheaper and more beneficial when you always intend to use the latest version.

Here above on 25 Nov 2022 you confirm that I have the Pro license:
Yes, it is correct, your old Pro license is valid
However, my Nicepage installation shows on top:
Your subscription has expired on May 12, 2024. Left only 2 days to use all premium features including the custom domain. Renew subscription with the 40% discount otherwise you will be moved to the Starter plan.
Why to 'Starter plan' if I have the 'Pro license' ?
