There have been multiple forum posts regarding issues because the home page should be exported as index.html as is standard, but NP for some reason has always saved it as home.html before the index copy being created.
IMHO, it shouldn’t be done that way.
It should be exported as index.html since that’s the standard and that’s what browsers are looking for.
Support mentioned some reason for home.html but it doesn’t make any sense to me.

Hmm, not sure what else I can say. I think it's been talked about pretty often here in the forum. See what MerlinAZ wrote here.
The home page should be exported as index.html. This has been standard procedure as long as I've been developing websites.

I hope that's enough details.
Thanks for considering this!

p.s. If I may ask, what is the filename associated with your homepage (nicepage.com)? index? or ... ?

Hi,

index.html is available in export here for homepage, but there is also "double" version called "startseite.html" -maybe this confuses.

I am not sure, but I think in previous versions there was possibility to rename the "startseite.html" to "index.html" and in following exports there was no "startseite.html" anymore.

Correct me, if I am wrong :-)

Thanks for your help! I understand the concept, but it is unnecessary and very bad for SEO.
