Desktop App verse the Web App

Ask a Question

So I started using the Desktiop app and had no problem exporting the website I was working on. I exported as HTML and chose export as Folder. I entered the folder name and then the path on my local drive. No problem I simply went to the that directory and the images are all in a sub-directory by themselves and all the page html and css files are there and it's simply a matter of FTPing to the customers server and website is up.
But I found that the desktop version doesn't sync since it would be convenient to be able to edit from both my home office and business as well so I exported to the web version and made changes and went to export the HTML again and the options are not the same, The only way you can export from what I see is to a zip file and when I open the zip all the images are not in an image sub directory neat and tidy and would have to further manipulated to upload correctly.
Why in the web app don't I have the same export options as in the desktop app where the html exports neat and tidy to the local drive that I specify? There should be no reason why I couldn't select the local path where the html files are saved from the web app. Why do you make simple things difficult.
If I'm not right on this please explain. As of now I am back to using nicepage on the desktop app at one location which does not make sense to me and makes me wonder if I made the right choice choosing nicepage.
Thanks in advance for any clarification regarding this issue.

Phil,

Yes. Historically, Online Editor and Desktop App are different software, and we are only working on merging those together. For now, you can export and import the project between those two editions if you need to choose a more convenient environment for your needs.

Thank you for your feedback and patience!
