Ask a Question

I've spent hours trying design a simple page. Just some text and a single image. But when I publish the page, either the image scale is way too large, or it floats down the page ... either way, the page when published looks nothing like the page when previewed. This is specific to Chrome.

Is there a general explanation as to why the preview doesn't give the same page rendition as to when it is published on my site?

And is there something in particular I am doign wrong in terms of designing the page?

Attached: left is the preview, right is the published page

Hi, David,

Every user has different browser cache files. I visited your site for the first time, and it looked well on my end. The page looked messy on your end because you used the browser preview often, I suppose. It affects the browser cache.

Let us know if you need our further help!

Thanks Paul - nice to get your view of the page. I've cleared my cache and now I've also added some meta tags to the page which I hope will help.

Regards,

David

OK, so with a bit more clear thinking, it became apparent thast the HTML was identical therefore is must be some other files cached in the browser. Clearing th cache resolved the issue.

But I guess I'm concerned that a visitor to the site will experience the same issue. This is probably a general question rather than specific to nicepage, but are there settings for determing how long these files remain cached and when they should get updated (i.e. can I be confident a visitor sees the page as designed, without them having to clear their cache?)

Hi, David,

On my end, this page looks well.

Try to clear the browser cache and let us know if it helps or not.
