This is a wish for the next update.
Please make the "alt" and "title" tags available for all images and links.
They are accessible under the name "SEO" for some images, but not for all. These tags are important for search engines as they allow to find images, and they are an important help also as a tool tip for the visitor.
There are some, but not enough, and I have no idea what is the system, why they show sometimes and other times not.

Volker,

Please provide examples of what images do not have "alt" and "title" tags, and we will forward that to the dev.

I have found several images in my project that do not show an editable alt tag ("SEO Alt").
This is always the case when an image fills a grid cell completely. As long as it is slightly smaller than the cell, clicking on the image in the editor selects the image, and the image properties, like ·"SEO Alt", appear in the right-hand menu.
As soon as the image size matches the cell exactly,(which is useful and also automatically recommended by the editor), the image cannot be selected separately anymore. Clicking on the image will always select the grid, which naturally does not have an "Alt" tag.

Another separate problem is icons. There it is not understandable why they should not be able to have an ALT tag

I attach some examples.

How can this be resolved? I think the best way would be to list the image in every case in the header of the right-hand menu, so it can be selected from there. Pointing the mouse on it cannot be used to select it because there is probably no way to distinguish whether the image or the grid cell shall be selected when both cover the same space.
So, when the user points at an image that fills a grid cell completely, the distinction can be made if the user afterward chooses the image OR the grid in the menu. This requires that the image is listed in the menu header, which right now it is not.

OTOH, from the code, it appears that images that fill a cell completely are then coded as background images, which usually don't have an ALT tag, so this would need to be changed, too (see HTML screenshot)

Volker,

Please note that the Image Background is not quite the Image Element, Icons are also not. If you use the Image Element for each instance of the sent you will have the ALT.

Alan, I understand this.
The problem here is that images in a grid that extend to the borders of the grid, are automatically transformed into background images, and thus their capacity to be tagged with ALT is taken away. There should be a conscient choice by the creator of the website whether an image shall be used as a background or as a normal image that is simply defined by the borders of the grid., and can thus carry the tag.
As it is now, I need to keep the borders of the pic slightly narrower than those of the grid to maintain it as a normal image, which is not as easy as just snapping it to the grid to avoid fumbling.
The tag is important for SEO, so there are good reasons to maintain this capacity.
I think this can be changed in the editing procedure, so an image needs to be declared intentionally as "background", otherwise it remains a normal image with the ALT tag whose borders are the same as the borders of the grid. I don't see any logical reason why this cannot be done.

Regarding the icons, is there a way to declare an icon as a pic to be able to attach an ALT tag?
E.g. I use the WhatsApp icon from the icon collection as a button to send a message, and I would like to tag it with ALT="Send us a WhatsApp message". I also have a piggybank icon and I would like to tag it with ALT="Save with our Discounts!"

Yes. You can add icons as the Image Elements. The Image supports SVG, and you can use the ALT Tag.

Thank you. Could you please make dev aware of the problem created by images being transformed automatically to background by the Nicepage editor when sized to the grid size.? This should be a choice, not automatic.

Hello Support-Team,
I have quite the same questions and issues with the ALT Tags and Title Tags regarding SEO.

I want to have the opportunity for all images to add an ALT and Title Tag. This is SEQ relevant!

The workaround for icons is not a real working one. As Icons can be placed inline of text, as where placing images over text, always comes with the issue of positioning.

Also Background Images in cells. Why shouldn't there be SEO relevant tags?
Replacing those with images which do not transform to background images is really hard.

This post is older than one year. And nothing has changed.
I think a self defined modern CSM as nicepage must be up-to-date with the existing SEO requirements.

Hello,

The background image is not an HTML image object. This is CSS property of the container block, cell, box, etc. There is no ALT attribute for the DIV tag. And it is not possible to add an HTML ALT attribute to the CSS property. Therefore, if you want all images to have an ALT tag you need to collapse them from the background image to the Image element.
Please let us know if you have any further questions.

Many agree, the "Alt Title" feature is critical.

Please show a clear tutorial how to use this feature using Nicepage.
