Ask a Question

Hi. I have often wondered about this.

Say I export the entire website from the desktop software and upload it to my hosting provider and the site is live.

But what if I make some updates to the website later on in the desktop software, either to existing pages or add new pages.

Do I only export that particular page and upload it to my hosting provider and the job is done?

How do I apply these changes in the hosting provider. I am using Godaddy.

Please help!

You'll need to export the whole site and upload to the host, overwriting the files that are there.

Hi. Do I need to reset to factory settings for re-uploading to the host?

How can I overwrite the files without resetting? Please elaborate.

Hi Vaivhav,

This means you need to reupload the files again in the same way that you upload them the first time.

For example, if you export your website into HTML and then use FileZilla to upload your website on the hosting. So after the changes, export it into HTML and use FileZilla to upload the website again.

Thank you.

I am exporting as HTML Zip file. I am using the File Manager of Godaddy to upload it. So you are saying it will rewrite the files itself and I dont need to factory reset?

Thanks for the response Vaivhav,

No need to reset anything. The hosting itself will ask you about it, if you want to replace the files, just confirm - yes.
