Ask a Question

Hi!

Almost every page and definitely every new page or post has de same metadiscription. I am new at my workplace and the former employer doesn't know it. But is there a possibilty to set a metadiscription so it automatically appears with every page? In other words, can I stop that? I am using a SEO tool for my metadiscriptions now, but I keep having issues with mutliple metadiscriptions per page, which is a problem in my SEO!

Thanks in advance, I hope you understand my question.

Hi,

Please explain in details. Do you mean that you have a Nicepage theme with the meta tags that are repeating on all pages? In this case they are probably added using the Site Settings >> SEO or HTML tab in the theme created using the desktop application. The Site Settings ar the same for all pages and the Page Settings are unique for each page.

I don't really know what you mean. But the problem is, that when I add a new page the SEO descriptions are already filled in. I attached a photo. Although the content is in Dutch, you will recognize the lay-out. I want this to be empty, so it won't automaticcaly fill this section in. I am sorry if i am still not clear enough!

I'm sorry, I think I forgot an important thing. I use the Nicepage plugin on Wordpress!

Hi,

It looks like you added description and keywords under the Site Settings >> SEO. This data is used as default data. Please remove it from Site Settings if you do not need it.
Please let us know if you have any further questions.

Hi Olivia, I can confirm that this problem still seems to exist. Screamingfrog detects multiple (and repeating) metadescriptions on every page I create. I can confirm with 100% certainty that there are NO SEO entries in the general website settings, only on the page settings

murphy_110,

Please create a new private topic with a detailed issue description and a link to the website.
The metadata can also be duplicated if you're using CMS SEO components where you added the same metadata.
