Ask a Question

Hi,

In my old and existing website I am replacing existing pages with pages developed using Nicepage. The old site home page is index.html. . The Nicepage site has the home page as home.html. Can I rename the "home" page in Nicepage from home.html to index.html? If we can, does this effect any of the functionality of the website already developed in Nicepage? As I make the transition converting over a hundred pages from the old site page to the new nicepage pages, there are a lot of references on the old pages back to index.html.

Thanks

Hi, Edward,

When you export your site to HTML from Nicepage, the index.html file is generated automatically. It means that you have both home.html and index.html in the site folder. The index.html file takes the content of the page that you set as a home page.

Let us know if you need our further help!

Thank you Paul for the update and information. . I did not realize the the index file as automatically generated and replaced the previous index file, as the index file is not seen in the project folder.

BTW, I love this Website Building tool! My choices was between Dreamweaver and Nicepage. With Nicepage, you don't need to be technical or know a little code.. Thank you!!
