Ask a Question

From a photo galery section on a Nicepage site I want to make a link per photo to give visitors the possibility to download a vectorized version (pdf) of that photo from my site. Is there a possibility to do so?

Ben,

You can try adding a link to each pdf for each photo. The only thing that images should not be on the background, collapse them to be able to add links.

Thank you!

A late reaction. Till a couple of weeks ago I could activate Lightbox in a photo gallery and still use a button on pictures to activate a download.
Now however (a couple of updates later), it is impossible to get a download button working on a picture no matter what I do!
So, my solution is: simply make a hyperlink to a picture, that will enlarge in the browser for immediate saving.
Maybe it is even better, but for sure more simple. (berwers.org)

Hi Ben,

I've checked the download option on this page and it works ok: http://berwers.org/Animals.html
Could you please explain the issue with image download in more details? Please provide a direct link to the page that demonstrates the issue.

Hi Olivia,
as far as I know there is no download option on https://berwers.org/Animals.html. Maybe you mean the right click "save image as" option.
What I meant is: Earlier on https://berwers.org/Graphics.html I could make a separate download button (Placed on the image) that worked (even with the Lightbox option activated), but now it does not work at all. In other words: Via a button on an image a download link will not work. Only if you make a direct download link to the image it works (but then you can not use the Lightbox option at the same time).
I hope this is understandable.
Best regards,
Ben

Hi Ben,

I was able to set the link to the PDF file to the image in my test project and that works fine. Please attach your project where we could see this page with the problem and check the settings.

Hi Hella,
I wrote earlier: "Via a button on an image a download link will not work (anymore). Only if you make a direct download link to the image it works (but then you cannot use the Lightbox option at the same time).

Now I am using the direct link from the photos here: https://berwers.org/Graphics.html
and I think it is the easiest way. A visitor clicks on a graphic image, that opens/enlarges the pdf file and he can save it.

For me the problem seems to be solved. Thank you!
Ben
