Installing only the pages

Hi folks,

I have two questions

  1. Can only the content created by the desktop version be imported into a Joomla site that has a non Nicepage template or does existing Joomla site have to have a template created by Nicepage.
  2. We had someone create a project in Nicepages (desktop) for our site (that does not have a Nicepage template), however, there are many pages with many high resolution images. He exported the content only but the file is over 200 Mbps, which is to larg for the typical Joomla install manager. Any recommendations on how to install it (tmp folder and use Joomla Discover)? And what files are needed in the exported zip?

Hi Bonnie,

  1. You can use Nicepage plug-in for the content separately from the template. So no problem, install only the content. You will need to have Nicepage plug-in on your site to display the content.
  2. Your project is indeed too big. Probably you will need to increase the maximum upload size limit in your php.ini file on the server to allow the upload of such large files.

Thank you for your response. If my server won't allow me to do this, What other options would I have? If I install the desktop version and import the project, can I export it in chunks from the Desktop version?

Bonnie,

You can export Theme or all pages from Desktop separately. Only the export of all pages is supported. Of course, you can remove some of the pages from the project in Desktop version before export.

Hi there,

So we did a test run, and exported only a couple of pages. However, I am getting a "failed chunk" message when trying to import the files into Nicepages on the website.

Any suggestions?

Bonnie,

What are you exporting for? And what are you importing?
Could you please send us screenshots?

Thank you!
