OK. As recommended by google if you want to hide the badge, I added in the footer "This site is protected by reCAPTCHA and the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply." and masked the badge with the extra css
.grecaptcha-badge { visibility: hidden; }

Alright, that's great.
You are correct, according to the Google Guidelines: "You are allowed to hide the badge as long as you include the reCAPTCHA branding visibly in the user flow.
