Report a bug

I attempted to update Nicepage a few moments ago to the latest version and it triggered a response from Avast Free anti-virus. The program was placed in quarantine and left me with no working version of Nicepage.

It’s probably a false positive.
Upload the installer to virustotal.
You’ll need to white list NP in your antivirus.

Hello,

Avast must take the software Nicepage again from their virus database.

Current solution:
Remove Nicepage from quarantine and whitelist the software and the installatons folder.
Then you can use Nicepage normally again.

Greetings Sebastian Mallach

The installer wasn't the issue. Once the installer started, Avast looked like it was going into epileptic shock. Every file as it was installed was triggering a response from Avast. Thankfully, a system restore put me back into a working state.

That's an excellent idea. I will whitelist the Nicepage app and tell it to ignore the Nicepage path. Hopefully, nobody who creates viruses decides to store the files in my Nicepage path ;-)

Hi,

Please try to temporarily disable anti-virus application and report to your anti-virus that the alert is false-positive.

I cannot answer which version of the program caused this since the System Restore put me back to an older version (before doing the System Restore, I checked to see which apps would be affected, and the two names that came up were Avast and Nicepage).

Anyway, since adding Nicepage to the whitelist, I was able to update both Avast and Nicepage after the system restore and everything works OK.

Also, I reported the potential false positive to Avast myself yesterday after I got everything working.

Good thing I have read this post before updating anything on Nicepage or else, I might also encounter the same issue as yours and affect our business site. Thank you for sharing this and for also providing details on what you have done to resolve the issue. This is very helpful.
