Ask a Question

Hi,

I just noticed that in Internet Explorer and Edge, images in my page are warped (IE) or blurry (Edge) - see attached live screen shots.

These are all set rotate in, using animations, and the animations work in preview but not live on the site. Also, IE does not seem to like the animations much. Probably not much can be done about that, as IE doesn't like much of anything.

web page is http://islandminimix.ca

Can you assist? Thank you.

Hi David,

Unfortunately, IE 11 does not support object-fit css property used by Picture Fit option.
I suggest that you add these images as cell or container backgrounds. This should help.

Unfortunately, no matter how I add these photos IE still blurs or distorts them.

In the attached, I created a blank section with grid
The photo on the left, is the picture fill for the grid

The photo on the right is a color fill with a container and an image inside it.

The IE screenshot shows distortion, chrome does not. Maybe I don't know what you mean about using Picture Fit option - could you send me a link? Thank you.

Hi David,

This issue is specific to the image and the way Edge renders images with reduced size:

Unfortunately, we can nothing to do with it.

Hi Olivia,

I am getting frustrated because nearly every photo I put into a nicepage section gets corrupted in Internet Explorer and Edge.

I don't see this problem with other image editors, and I don't think that Artisteer had this problem when it rendered images in responsive views in Internet Explorer, but maybe I need to go back and check.

What I see in this, unless I am misunderstanding, is that Nicepage does not yet create web sites that work fully with either Microsoft browser, unless you don't use photographs?

Hi David,

In my screenshot, there is a regular HTML page created directly in browser inspector. I created the div with the same size and image as on your website. The image looks the same. Therefore this issue is not related to Nicepage but related to the way Edge resizes and renders this specific image. This is йнгеу typical situation for IE and Edge browsers.
If you decide to make additional tests with different editor please use the SAME image and SAME size of the container.

I do not understand at all what you mean. All I know is, all the site looks terrible in Internet Explorer and Edge. Its fine that you blame the browser, but what is the fix for this? Why do other web editors not have this problem? I never had this problem with Artisteer, or Dreamweaver, or Microsoft Expression Web.... what is causing the image distortion? IE sure, because that's the browser, but how do we fix this?

Did you try the exactly THIS image with the SAME SIZE in Artisteer, Dreamweaver and other editors?
I provided you with the screenshot with the blank html page created directly in the browser web inspector where you can see the same problem. This is an emulation of plain html page which has no relation to Nicepage at all. Sometimes different browser may incorrectly render specific images when they are reduced or enlarged.
We can nothing to do this. Nicepage creates html for image (standard code) and sets the size. The image itself is rendered by the browser.
