Importing To Word Press

I like to work on my desktop then import the file to WordPress. Unfortunately, everytime I upload to WP I get duplicates of each page. I have been going in to WP, deleting all the pages, then uploading the new, changed files from my desktop. Is there another way to do do this so I don't have to first delete the files before uploading the new version of the page?

While importing Content check the "Replace imported content" checkbox in WordPress.
