Ask a Question

Hello and thanks in advance for the help.

I purchased nicepage because of the user-friendly capabilities and features, etc.

I re-developed my website and published it to my hosting company.

When the site is opened from any web browser I get a "Deceptive site ahead"
I have an SSL certificate in place and nothing has changed except that it was developed with nicepage.

I never had any issues when developing this same site using my old website development tool never had this issue.

I contacted my web hosting company about the issue and they are advising me that there is a file (Unknown file) in my site directory which is triggering an alarm in every modern browser algorithm Chrome, Edge, etc, that is causing this problem.

I have no idea which is the file that is causing the problem.

Can anyone advise of a fix for this problem?

Thank you,

Best regards,

Carlos

Finally !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So that others can benefit from this horrible experience I had, let me illustrate what was the problem according to Google, and how it was fixed.

The site needed to be flagged as "Verified Website Property"

So, in my Google account, I had to look for Google Search Console then:

  1. Click on Add a Property. (Google will ask you how do you want to Verify the site, here is where you enter the website in my case canissoft.com without the www)
  2. Google will generate scrambled text. This text needs to be copied into the clipboard and then inserted into the website DNS
Record as a TXT record. in your website hosting company such as Bluehost, IONOS, Hostgator. etc.
  3. Login into your hosting company console.
  4. Click on your website and go to the DNS Settings.
  5. Click on Add Record and select a TXT Record. In the Hosting Name type: @, and on the text field, paste the generated
google text then click on SAVE.
  6. Wait a couple of minutes for the changes to take effect.
  7. Go to the Google Console and click on Verify.
  8. Google then will attempt to verify the ownership if everything is ok. you will get a message stating that the account was
    verified.
  9. DO NOT DELETE THIS NEWLY TXT ADDED RECORD

Very Important
You must NOT have a third-party tool such as Cloudflare monitoring the site, because if you do, the Google verification process will fail

I hope that this helps others how to resolve the same miserable experience that we had.

Thank you to all of you that helped me all the way.

Best regards,

Carlos
