Ask a Question

Hi,
I run an advertising and marketing company. I'd like to use Nicepage to create landing pages on my client's WordPress websites. I generally find that when clients have access to landing pages they edit the pages and ruin my conversions. I want to stop them from being able to do this.

I read this article - https://nicepage.com/doc/177004/role-management-in-wordpress and I see that I can limit the access of Nicepage for WordPress Editors. However, I have a number of existing clients who already have a WordPress website and have Administrator level access.

I have tested using setting editor level to "Edit content only" but they can still access the Nicepage menu item inside the WordPress dashboard and when they click New Page it comes up with a popup asking them to set up a Nicepage account. My Nicepage account allows me to white label the Nicepage WordPress plugin. So this popup causes confusion with my clients.

I want to make sure I'm the only one who can create new pages or edit designs in Nicepage. I hope you can help. Thanks in advance.
Neil

Hi Neil,

Unfortunately there is no way to hide Nicepage plug-in for other administrators. Although the edits will be saved only after a person logs in so if your clients do not have licenses, they won't be able to edit the site.
Maybe there are some WP and Joomla extensions that could allow to hide some admin options for a certain list of users.

That's a shame. I will use White Label CMS for now as that'll let me hide NicePage from the admin Dashboard menu. However, that doesn't really fix the issue of white labelling NicePage because when someone does go to edit one of the pages they're prompted to create a NicePage account.
The real reason to white label a plugin like this is to keep the client from ever knowing that NicePage is being used.

It would be really useful if NicePage could add this function to the existing plugin.

At the moment the NicePage WordPress plugin controls access to the NicePage editor via the WordPress capability "edit_pages " which is a capability that is granted to editor level and above in WordPress.
Nicepage seems to have written a small script as part of its plugin that further restricts access.
I don't think it would be much of an alteration to the existing code to edit this function and restrict access based on specific users.
Alternatively, you could create a custom capability to control its access rather than using the default "edit_pages " capability

Is it something that NicePage would consider adding to their plugin?

Hi Neil,

If you add your client e-mail or site domain as a Client License in your license settings, there should be no popup asking to register with Nicepage if you use the white label plug-in.

I guess I could do that but then they will have full access to the editor which is what I'm trying to avoid.

Hi Neil,

But there is no other way to manage the white label option.

I also had such a need. As an administrator, I wanted to give my clients only editing privileges. That's how I did it. Maybe it will guide those in need. I installed the user role editor plugin. I have given the editor role full admin privileges. In this way, the editor will be able to do all the wordpress rights such as installing all the plugins and will have limited powers as an editor with nicepage. It's currently working until the Nicepage team updates it. I hope I explained, English is a little bad, but I use wordpress well :))

Levent,

Your clients can edit pages if you add their email or the whole domain at
https://nicepage.com/User/Orders/Subscriptions

To restrict the layout editing, please refer to
https://nicepage.com/doc/107183/edit-content-roles

If you need more info, please create a separate case, which may be private, if you need to share some personal data.
