Images on a page can have an ALt text added but you can't add alt text to an image used as a background or in the header or footer. Not good for those using text readers for visual impairment.

Hi Nick,

Background images are not HTML image objects. They are elements of style defined in the css file. There are no alt attributes for style elements.

Hi Nick,

Logo control does not have alt as this is not a regular content image. For SEO we're using og metadata. But I've asked our developers to all alt for Logo too just in case.

If you look at the HTML code (this is HTML not WordPress) it's just an image so it needs an alt setting.

Nick,

I've asked our developers to add alt for Logo too. It will be available in the future Nicepage versions.

Olivia, Safari refuses to autoplay my video background at centrabit.com . How do I add an "alt" image? Either the image should be sent as the webserver notices that no video is called or I will be able to specify which browsers should have the video and which should have the alt img

Hi Carl,

There is no video on the centrabit.com website.
The alt attribute can be added to Images only. The alt attribute is an HTML attribute for the HTML IMG tag. The background image is not an HTML tag, this is a style property. It does not have HTML attributes.
Please let us know if you have any further questions.
