If this post is already on the Forums, I apologize. However, in my defense, I've seen nowhere to vfy if any post is already on the forum. I've sent this issue to Support, but not hearing anything. I've tried working on other issues while I'm waiting, but I'd really like to get on with it.
I've been doing Site Audits from several different companies, but I keep getting msgs about the Canonical Setting. So, let me first make sure I understand the best practices for that setting. I know its purpose is to eliminate confusion between subtly different URLs, but am I supposed to just put THE ONE URL in that I want Google to see and use, and is this the correct syntax:
rel = myproaudiogear.com/home
AND do I put a unique URL for every page. OR am I supposed to put ALL the possible URLs in that field so it knows which ones to look for that should point to myproaudiogear.com? Also, while I'm on that issue, IF myproaudiogear.com is the preferred URL, then how do I handle the 301 Redirects.
