Resizing background image

Ask a Question

I have a problem with a background image, current there's only 3 options, cover, fit, and tile, I need to be able to resize the background image just as I do with actual images inserted in a block, so that I can match them to other pages that have the same background, or even center the image keeping it's ratio identical to other pages that use the same background.

If I used 'fit', then the background image get resized according to the size of the page, if I used 'cover', then the image is maximized to fit the entire page, or if I used 'tile', then I get a multiple smaller images filling the page.

Hi, Kent,

You can also use the Crop and Zoom options if you want your background image to be resized. Have you tried these options?

Yes I tried to crop and zoom, but it wasn't what I was looking for, the background still auto adjusted according to the size of the page, it seems the background size is a fixed size when it comes to the actual size of the page, and anything added to the page such as a block of text, the background image resizes itself to fit around the block, the more stuff added, the smaller the background image.

I have the same problem too.we need this background to be fixed where we want no matter what we add.

Hi,

Could you please attach a few screenshots demonstrating your issues with the background images?

Attached are 2 screenshots, as can be seen both screenshots use the same image but different sizes, and can also be seen that the full image is not within the page borders, the zoom option only zooms in, not out, the option to fit image to background only places 1 tile on the center, so I use the fit to background, but images seen in both screenshots I should be able to zoom out and keep the image centered without it being auto resized to fit the entire background, I have tried using an image editor such as 'Paint' and 'gimp' to try various sizes and as can be seen with both the 50x50 background image, and the 300x388 background image, they still get resized to fully fit the page size with parts of the image cropped.

Stretch the page vertically, and the background image stretches too, what I wanted to happen is the background image to stay in the center and to be zoomed out to make the image smaller so that the entire image can be fit inside the page borders,

Hi, Kent,

Sorry for the late response (due to the weekend).

When the size of an image does not coincide with the sizes of a Block, the background image is stretched so it fully covers the whole Block. The background image also always keeps its proportions. You can try to change your image to have the same size as your Block. In this case, the image will not be cropped.

Let us know if you need our further help!
