I would use Filezilla to connect to your host and make sure you placed the site files into the correct folder.
It might be the public_html folder.

I can see the home.php file in the root folder. I don't see public.html folder. Any help will be appreciated. thanks

That's for html sites.
If you're using Wordpress, you might want to contact your host and find out.
