Incorrect page shown after selection of hyperlink

I create an image on a page and link it to Page A. However on the right hand properties an entirely different image is shown. When the page is displayed and the image is clicked on the correct page does show.
I must confess to being discouraged with the product. So much either fails to work , is difficult to work or is far from intuitive. It has the feel of a Beta product.
