I would like to try the Web App With Hosting + Designer App Pack Starter Plan but don't see where I can make and register a domain name to get it started. Please help.

Domain names are obtained with domain registrars, and can't be assigned to the Starter plan.
You need a licensed version to point to a Nicepage hosted site.
You can create an online site with the Starter plan and will be assigned a Nicepage.io URL.
