Frankly speaking, no idea :)

Check our Release notes, at the bottom Block and Page Designs section. In every update, you may find there the designs that are released.

how many templates are released per year?

I go into all the categories and I practically don't see anything new... it's all so the same that if you have a new template you don't even notice...

The tool is good... but this part of the template leaves a lot to be desired...

And in the available templates I think there is a lack of life... it all seems so old that even to have ideas on how to set up a new site is more difficult...

My suggestion is that you can also rethink this issue of layouts... and, if possible, create a way to show the launched templates also separately so that we can follow the newest ones...
