Sound on Video

Hi Markus,

This is behavior by default.
Starting from April 2018 Google Chrome blocks automatically playing videos if the sound is on by default. According to these browser restrictions, videos, added in Nicepage, plays with sound off. Dear Elena,
i am not using Google Chrome, i am using IE or Firefox and i am playing a video from our own web site. So it seems to me that NicePage is turning the speaker off when automatic start is selected.

I agree with marcor, I think nicepage is adding mute. If you look at page source below you see that mute is set to 1

Hi Markus,

Latest versions of Firefox also block all media with sound from playing automatically.
If you want a website to automatically play media, you should give it permission.

It is a global trend, that's why Nicepage also supports it, in order your videos not to be blocked by your clients' browsers.

I would like to have the video play audio if manual play is selected however I cannot find where the option to turn off autoplay is at, and I have looked many times, please advise, thanks.

Hi,

When the autoplay is disabled, the sound should be enabled by default, and you can manually play the video with sound. But this option is not available for video backgrounds because, as the background, the video should be played automatically.

When the video is in the carroussel it show an info "background video". I think it should not happen. In the carroussel it should look like an image.

You need to add it as a background so it would take the whole cell of the carousel.
