Ask a Question

I have my blog page set up with the blog block, utilising the post content element. Each individual blog post created in WordPress begins with a shortcode that displays information.

When the template is active, if a post-excerpt is not present, the theme displays the content as information generated by the shortcode. Is it possible for the theme to ignore the shortcode and generate text based on the first paragraph of text within the blog post?

Left image shows output when no excerpt present. Right image shows output when excerpt present.

Additionally, is it possible to remove the "read more" link and the truncate the excerpt after a certain number of characters?

Hi,

Unfortunately, the excerpt configuration is not available for the Blog Posts element on the Nicepage pages. It is available for the theme Blog Template only.

Hello,

Sorry for the delay.
Previously you mentioned that "I have my blog page set up with the blog block, utilising the post content element. ". So I assume that you created the Nicepage page with the Blog Posts element. If you're referring to the WP-generated blog pages like Category or Tags which use the theme Blog Template, you can adjust the post excerpt settings under the Customizer >. Excerpt.
Please let us know if you have any further questions.
