On my wordpress site created with nicepad i create a new blog post (and assigned new category 'kb')
On desktop(which i initially used to create the wordpress site) i created custom template with a blog post block added and above ithe blog post i added an image and button (which i want to appear on all blog posts for kb category)
I exported the theme with the new custom template as Wordpress zip theme (1 tick box), and imported it into Wordpress
I went to the newly created blog post on the desktop - clicked 'edit' and assumed the custom template would be in post-templates pull down to select, it isn't
Can you advise me, are custom templates able to be applied to specific posts in this way and the correct procedure to achieve this.
PS i already have the 'default' blog and posts template set up which is working ok i just want to over-ride it for certain posts (ones in 'kb' category but not archive page so category name is i assume irrelevant).
thanks
