I have the issue that i can not change the color of a shape from default blue to anything else.

Just noticed, i should have maybe dropped more info:
i have 4 shapes in 1 group. they are all the same and alt-copied from each other. it is not possible to change their colors individually, but 1 of the shapes (possibly the origin shape i placed in the group 1st) seems to indicate the colors for the other 3...?! so switching the origin shape in color makes the other 3 becoming the same color (even if they are engaged to another in the menu)

Please describe the actions you are doing I can not change the color or a screenshot will be helpful.
You can change the color from default by adding the missing one from the panel, add new, or use another color from the theme:
