You automatically generate twitter cards but there are problems. These cause issues for SEO.
Not all required tags are present.
Those that are are populated inappropriately.
There is no option to either customize or turn off.
twitter:site - Populates with "@" when it should be @twitteraccountname
twitter:card Defaults to "summary_large_image" but there should be other cards available
twitter:title Populates from <title> but should be customizable
twitter:description - Uses the project Sitename from SiteSettings to populate - needs to be customizable
twitter:image - this is missing but required
Can I suggest you either:
1) Remove automatic creation of Twitter cards
2) Allow to turn off automatic code creation so my own code can be put into the site settings meta field
3) Have a Twitter card settings tab in the site/page settings with fields for users to enter required data
Currently, there is no workaround for this poor implementation apart from entering my own code and having duplication and this causes SEO issues.
Please resolve asap.
