Ask a Question

We want to see about using this for CLIENTS and clients aren't going to be doing all your asking to upload from the desktop application. Once I upload this to the server after designing it on desktop, it looks like it sets the template in the template folder. Question:.

  1. Does the plugin for Joomla now operate EVERYTHING on server side so there is no need for desktop anymore, like if they want to add a little bit to that original design. Will that store all changes into the template on the server-side
  2. We also noticed you can't download any edits done on the server-side back to the desktop. It seems to be a one way function only
  3. What is a normal work flow for people using this for clients
  4. We currently use Yootheme and Balbooa for Joomla CMS and it's all server sided. How is yours better than theirs

Yes.

We also noticed you can't download any edits done on the server-side back to the desktop. It seems to be a one way function only

No, you can't

What is a normal work flow for people using this for clients

You create a website for clients, and use the link in the profile to add client licenses.

We currently use Yootheme and Balbooa for Joomla CMS and it's all server sided. How is yours better than theirs

We don't know, you have 7 days to try Nicepage with all features.

Thanks for Replying Allen R.
1 more question. I noticed the folks who upload to the server from the desktop app have a folder in their Template named Nicepage, when I just load the Joomla plugin/component there is no Template named Nicepage only the default Joomla Templates. Does this change once you purchase Nicepage? Currently Joomla shows protostar - Default.
Also are you writting back to the CSS for some reason because those files are CHMOD to 777 in components/com_nicepage/assets/css not 644 as they are normally.

Hi,

Please check this article about how to install the theme and content on the Joomla site:
https://nicepage.com/doc/70107/installation-of-joomla-template-and-articles

It should work the same with the free and purchased version.

Also are you writting back to the CSS for some reason because those files are CHMOD to 777 in components/com_nicepage/assets/css not 644 as they are normally.

You can try to change the permissions to the desired one and see if that does not har the functionality. But actually yes, when you perform edits in the plug-in on the site the new updated styles should be added into the files.

Hella there seems to be some confusion in your support department. I asked this question right above in this thread

Does the plugin for Joomla now operate EVERYTHING on server side so
there is no need for desktop anymore, like if they want to add a
little bit to that original design. Will that store all changes into
the template on the server-side

Allan Replied

YES

So Allan says there was no need for the desktop, yet in your video it shows you need the desktop to get the Template in the TEMPLATE FOLDER. The template operates as long as everything is made from the Nicepage but outside of that your Nicepage template does not appear, for me the default Template is PROSTAR. So can you or anyone in your department describe this better? Not sure why there is no Template appearing in my Folder on the server side

Hi,

It is quite difficult to understand what each customer means by "EVERYTHING". Nicepage plugin is a content builder plugin. Therefore it cannot operate theme, Joomla modules, and other stuff. But it operates Nicepage pages. Also, the plugin includes the template for Nicepage pages, and you can edit the page Header and Footer directly in the Editor. You do not need a Desktop app to create pages in Nicepage. But you need a Desktop app to create a CMS theme.
Please let us know if you have any further questions.

Thanks Olivia that was a PERFECT explanation. I downloaded the desktop already, and configured the template and uploaded it. I figured that was the missing piece. Thanks for your help 😉👍
