Ask a Question

hi all
On the free plan since I am doing a web page for my wife's non-profit she is starting. I just upgraded my pc (long story) and I am a little confused as to the process to move my site from 1 pc to another. It would seem to me that since I login my site would easily just transfer over when I login to my account on the new pc. However, that does not seem to be case. It seems the login/account is just to track your plan and then determine what you have access to. That makes sense. Since I cannot import an HTML (or anything else you can export for free) - is there any way to get this page I am working on on the new pc?
thank you.

There is a system.
It's called exported Project files.
Save them in the cloud and you can use them whenever necessary.
And if your system crashes, and you don't have any system images, you lost everything. Not just Nicepage files.

Hi Ahmad, so if my pc crushes, it means I have lost all sites. Could Nicepage develop a system where the application syncs with the cloud and I can access my work from any machine I log into.

On your old system should be a folder in Documents\Nicepage called Site_##########.
If you copy that folder and move it to Documents\Nicepage after installing Nicepage on your new system, it should work.
Your other option is to export the site as a project on your old system, and import that project file on your new system.

hi!
I exported to the folder and then pasted that into the nicepage folder.
It appears from your instructions above that the folder needs to have the name "site_#####" and I cannot use export but instead have to use the same naming convention.
I have all of the files right now on the new computer (old pc is at home.)
what is the naming convention supposed to be for the new directory and can I use the files from the export or do I need the saved directory from the other pc?
lastly, I will let you know about the appearance of the exported html after we solve this issue, lets do one at a time :)
thank you

Hi,

Kindly double-check if this is what you were doing. On your old PC, go to the folder C:\Users...\Documents\Nicepage, the folder e.g. "Site_277497982" of your website >> Copy these files and go on your new PC with it >> on your new PC open the folder C:\Users...\Documents\Nicepage >> paste the files "Site_277497982" into the folder C:\Users...\Documents\Nicepage. Open Nicepage Desktop App. What do you see?

Now please specify your actions if this is what you did?

Also, when I open the HTML that is exported, the web page looks nothing like what it did on NICEPAGE.

Please attach to this ticket your exported website and attach screenshots of how it looks like on your Nicepage Desktop APP.

Thanks,

Hi Morten,

Thanks for your interest shown to Nicepage.

You could export it as a project in the Premium Plan and then open it on any PC you want. But no worries, in the Free Starter Plan, you can transfer your website also.
To move your website from one computer to another, zip your site folder and place it on your new computer in the installed default directory (on your PC, it can be something like C:\Users...\Documents\Nicepage)

After that, you can upload the website on the hosting, ignore the reminder, and export your website.

Let us know if you require any further assistance.

sorry for my delayed response. When I place my site in the default directly on the new PC the application does not see it as one of my sites as when I open the program there is nothing listed under my sites? that is with zip or file folder from export from the other pc
