Ask a Question

Just upgraded to the latest version. I'm asked to restart NP - so I do - then I get (see attached)

It says " Errro ENOENT: no such file or directory, scandir
C:\users\adminx\documents\nicepage\Site_294726772"

Sure enough that directory doesnt exist - so I created one called Site_294726772
Re loaded NP - and it pops another error saying it cant find another directory

I havent deleted anything. I was using NP earlier today , it was still loaded when it prompted me to say please upload to latest version etc - which I did - now its unuseable

Hi,

Did you change the Projects folder under the Profile >> Preferences?
Were there any problems during the application update like an unexpected computer restart or shut down?

I have the same problem after updating to 3.3. All worked before. I found 2.x.x.x and installed that and am able to open my sites.
Version 3.3 has problems and I get the same error code as above.

I managed to hack mine back to life by going into the recycle bin in windows 10 and hitting the restore option , then I'd try to load , it would get a little bit further then fall over again. So I kept on restoring from the recycle bin until it eventually loaded ok.

The NP frontend could be improved (obviously) as this should be happening. It could also be improved if we could have a normal File - Open , File - Save - File Close type GUI - having all the projects lists in the date they were used in the left hand column is really not very user friendly in my opinion, Im sure others feel the same.

Is there a fix for this except running old version? Will not be renewing my license next year. Going to use the next several months to change all website out of nicepage.
Stuck running version 2.2.4.

For some reason after updating to version 3.3.3, on site name changed from Site_706313852 to Site_706313852-4.
Removing or renaming without the -4 worked. 3.3.3 now works.
I now see that my original site folder Nicepage_websites a sub folder was added called Nicepage and then another sub folder named Nicepage was added by Nicepage.
So now my auto save folder is Nicepage_websites\Nicepage\Nicepage.
So auto save sites should have something like Site_123456789 and not Site_123456789-2

Goto your nicepage folder look for Site_294726772 and see if it has a -2, -4 or anyother - and remove the -X and see if 3.3.3 now opens, that was my problem. You could always copy that Site to another folder remove it and see if Nicepage opens. I now have 3.3.3 running again.

Where in NP does it keep a list of your sites, is there a local file that can be edited ? , or is it a database online somewhere ?

Under preferences on the right side on the top, has language and project folder.
I know I did not add the sub folders nicepage\nicepage
but it is working by changing the file name on one site.
I was able to find it by installing older version of nicepage so I could get to the settings.

Sorry - i didnt mean the default directory path. I meant where does it load those sites from - as in - is there a database that includes details on all your sites - or does it just look in that project folder and then list whatever it finds ?

It doesnt really matter. The NP user interface is not good compared what the standard apps look like.

Documents\Nicepage folder has the site_* files.
Is that what you are asking?

No - what I meant was - how does Nice page keep a list of all your projects / sites. Does it do just my looking in the nicepage folder - or does it store the site information somewhere else - like a local data base, or in my Nicepage User Details etc.

It becomes really really annoying - when I cant just simply fo File - Open - and then search for a project. instead I have to scroll down that list - and cant even rearrange the sort order - whether that is alphabetical or by date etc

The default is:
C:\Users\Username\Documents\Nicepage
which is seen in the preferences option for project folder.

This is how mine is listed. I don't have a picture of the list with the error that caused 3.3.3 to give the same error you have.
When it lists the site that has the error it does not show the whole number. One of mine had either -2 or -4 behind the number.
here is my list and I removed/renamed the one with the extra number. 3.3.3 started working after that.

I hope this helps.

Nicepage needs to change so that it has a 'normal File - Open - select file' type interface - like nearly every other app / program has

Hi,

The projects folder is needed for the dashboard where you can see all websites, pages, access Site Settings, etc.
We recommend not to change the Projects folder and touch projects if it is not critical.
