Ask a Question

Am I the only one who's been slow to realise that if I create a template in Nicepage desktop (with no Nicepage pages) and export that and import it to a WordPress install, I don't need the Nicepage plugin?

The plugin is only needed if I wanted to create Nicepage pages either in Nicepage desktop or in WordPress.

Yes, that's correct (and I don't want to say you're slow...). But creating entire pages with the plugin is one hell of a feature you don't want to miss!

Ha! 😄

I've done a few sites with some Nicepage pages but many are just blogs where I just have a few WordPress pages and the rest Posts - this is far easier to do without having to use Nicepage. I also have one website I run for an organisation who create their own content, so I can let them carry on using what they know without having to bother about Nicepage.

Hi,

Yes, you can create a Theme in the Desktop app, export and install it on your site.
There is no need to install the plugin if you want to use only the Nicepage Theme.

I'm not sure I read this anywhere when I was getting started with Niccepage. I understand you'd like people to use it to create pages and whole websites with it, but there's frequently no need to - particularly for simple blogs, etc. It might help some if you made that clearer.
