Sorry by interfering. I also have been bumping my head around trying to make it work and send emails from the site with Nicepage contact form template. Finally I got it working and maybe I would be able to help with some basic hints, without pretending to fix other issues.
Being that your server is proper configured and able to send and receive emails, use the instructions at: (link below)
Which mean that you'll be using the URL option. Create the contact.php file (or other name of your choice) with the proposed code, making changes on the two fields written in CAPS ("mail_ from" must reside on your server) . Following the 3 field names on the beginning as example (name, email, message), you could add more fields: each field name is shown at "HTML attribute of an '<'input'>'" when you select each one of them and look at its property (right pane).
Save this php script at the public_html folder of your server (or maybe another folder where your site resides) and, at the Nicepage interface, fill the field "send emails using custom form action" with the path to your php script ej: "\contact.php". The "\" is not optional! This field can be found when you select the whole form block and click at the SUBMIT TO "URL" , just below the "+Add Field" button.... and voilà: -It finally worked for me. Have fun tweaking the form template and don't forget to adapt the script.
Sincerely,
Wes
