Report a bug

I have created a relatively simple site of 4 pages. I have uploaded them to a host. Accessed the site from Chrome. All OK. Tuned the site for publication in browsers, on phones and on tablets.
The site can only randomly be accessed from phones and tablets. You can be lucky sometimes and have an iPhone access it and then sometimes not at all. Same for Android.
When you access via Chrome you can access the site. Go back to the site 20 minutes later and it comes up as blank.
Nothing at all in edge or IE.
How can it be doing this and be so inconsistent? What do I need to do to fix this?
Yes, we've tried all the clear cookies, clear history etc. Still no improvement.

Dear Nicholas,

It sounds like there may be an issue with how the site is being loaded across different devices and browsers, possibly related to caching, responsiveness, or server configuration. Here are a few suggestions to help troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:

  1. Check Server Configuration:
Ensure your hosting provider's server is properly configured for mobile devices and modern browsers. Issues with caching, SSL, or even how files are served to different platforms (HTTP/HTTPS redirects) may exist.

  2. Check for Caching Issues:
Even though you've cleared cookies and history, the server might be caching the site inconsistently. Try temporarily disabling caching in your hosting control panel or through ".htaccess" for Apache servers and see if it resolves the issue.

  3. Cross-browser Compatibility:
Verify that your website's HTML, CSS, and JavaScript are compatible across all major browsers (Chrome, Safari, Firefox). Use tools like BrowserStack to check cross-browser functionality.

  4. Optimize Mobile Responsiveness:
Double-check how the site is configured for mobile. Use Chrome DevTools or a similar tool to simulate mobile views. Ensure that the media queries for mobile and tablet views are working correctly.

  5. Error Logs and Console:
Open the developer console in your browser (F12 in Chrome/Edge) and check for error messages. Some scripts or resources may be failing to load.

  6. Check Hosting and DNS Propagation:
If the issue persists across multiple devices and browsers, there might be a delay or problem with DNS propagation, especially if the site was just recently uploaded. Try using a DNS checker tool to verify whether DNS resolves consistently across different locations.

Let me know if these suggestions help, or feel free to share more details. Please share the website link and check if the issue persists if your website is published on the Nicepage hosting.

Sincerely,
Ahmad.
