I seem to have solved this problem but I think it worthwhile noting it as this is the second time it has happened.
In January 2023 I created a template with dark green header and footer. For months it displayed correctly with all page headers and footers in the same colour. Then it started displaying the Home page header and footer in a dark cream colour. All the other pages had headers and footers in dark green. After a few days the website reverted back to normal.
Then about a month ago the same thing happened only this time it did not revert and, after a lot of searching and examining code, the only solution I could find was to edit the template by choosing a slightly different green, and then upload that template to the website. It now works OK.
Is there a simple reason for this? I would be glad to know it.
Thank you for your help
best wishes
