The image gallery is a nice feature, but it's far too primitive and limited compared to the versatility that singular image elements have.
Some examples:
You can't bevel the edges of your images in the gallery like you can with singular image elements
The hover animations are far more limited. Images can only be expanded within their border rather than the image itself expanding. The resize elements are also much too intense with how much they expand/shrink - sometimes you want a subtle expand and that doesn't seem to be possible with the gallery. Setting a value like 0.99 or 0.98 will just round you to 1, which doesn't increase or shrink the image.
There is no way to gap individual axis. There is a group gap feature, but no way to increase just the horizontal or vertical gaps. This can be irritating if you are satisfied with the gaps between images but want a larger gap inbetween rows.
