it would be cool to change an uploaded image in gallery for a project
This would allow uploading an optimized version of the image for example without changing all links / embedded pictures.

Now Nicepage users have their images uploaded into the Nicepage after using them in the project, but without the predefined associated links to it.
Please provide more details about how you see the uploading and usage of such images in the project so we can add your idea to our wishlist.

Hello, here are more details regarding my request.
When I work on a new project, it is ok to use not optimized pictures / photos / images until the project goes live.
During testing design and content the speed of load is not really important.
After all is finished to publish online it is important for all users to "fine tune" the project images to guarantee fast and efficient load of website.
So I am optimizing the images used in project and add them again to gallery and replace all the ones used in project by new images.
It would be much easier, if I could directly change an image within the gallery.
Let me give you an example.
I am using image football.jpg chosen from the gallery in my project.
This football.jpg is not optimized yet and takes very long to load in the final project.
Currently I am optimizing the football.jpg to football-optimized.jpg and save it in gallery again.
Then I need to manually replace all the football.jpg used with the new one from gallery.
This is ok with a few pictures, but it would be much easier just to replace the football.jpg direct in gallery with uploading the football-optimized.jpg instead for the football.jpg, so it will be replaced on all uses in project just by uploading the new one.
This is only a few lines of code for a programmer but would optimize the software a lot.
