Can't save page or publish

Hi. At the moment, I can no longer save or publish a page that I'm editing but only preview it. Nor can I go to My Sites from the page that's being edited, though I can't leave the page without losing all my content. It's like the page is almost completely frozen.

Hi Alex,

As I understand, the issue happens on Nicepage Online, right? Exactly what happens when you save or publish a page? Do you see any error message? Does the issue happen with all pages or with a specific page only?

Hi, Olivia.
The problem is on NP online and started after I had saved 4 blocks of content, but I didn't notice that the remaining blocks weren't saved until I tried to publish the page. I don't get any error message. What happens is that I get no response when clicking Publish and nothing is saved either. The yellow word 'Saved' doesn't pop up. All the content appears in preview but not beyond that. The other pages on the site Theotokos are okay. But when I open a new window to return to the page in question, only the first four blocks appear. BTW, I upgraded to the New Nice 2.22 after a pop up appeared while editing this page. Could this have anything to do with it?

Hi Alex,

Please try to reload the page, then press F12, open the Network tab, clear the log and then press the Publish button to reproduce the issue. Attach a screenshot of what you get in the Network tab. Then also open the Console tab and check if there are any errors, if so, attach this screen as well.

I reloaded the page but, as a result, I lost all the unsaved material. And when I press F12, I open the Lenovo Vantage page.
I guess I must delete the page and start all over.

Hi Alex,

If you're working in Chrome, please try CTRL+Shift+I or three dots menu >> More Tools >> Developers Tools menu.
In general, you can recreate the page is you want. But please do not remove the problem page so we can investigate this issue.

Unfortunately, I deleted the page yesterday and created a replacement. If this problem recurs, I'll hold on to it.

Hi. This problem has recurred today. I can't save or publish a page that I've just finished. And I discovered that the last quarter of the contents has been saved. Here's a screenshot of the page. There is no error message but only no response. If I leave the page, the unsaved material may be lost and probably will be.

Hi, Olivia.
This issue happened twice on NP online on specific pages I was editing. What happened was, the content stopped being saved at some point near the end. Nor could I publish the finished page. I got no error message, only no responses at all.

Alex,

When you have such issues, please press F12, and copy the Consol Tab content and separately the Network Tab.

Please attach those as a screenshot and/or text files.

Also, before publishing, you may want to export your project. And it is recommended to do backup exports at least once an hour until you finish with your page not to lose much of your work.

I have also had the same irritating issue. Create a page - the page says 'saved' I try and close the page and create another page and NP tells me if I close this window changes may not be saved. And it's right - even though it says saved , it hasnt not saved the changes and reverts back to page before I made the change.

I have tried disabling wordfence security plugin - made no difference. What I havent done is use another browser. But it is very annoying

OK, the loss of hours of work has been avoided by working directly in the database.

in the _postmeta table there is a meta_key " _np_html_preview" entry for the particular page/post id. To find the post id look in the edit url for "?post=" and use the number you see there to search the postmeta table for the post_id.
I copied the "meta_value" contents of that preview entry into the meta_value for the "_np_html" meta_key entry of the post.

Then when I opened a new edit window in Nicepage the preview version of the page had been saved and loaded for editing. Work saved. :)

However, when trying to view the page/post it still showed an old version. So I went into the _posts table and deleted the "post_content" contents for the post.

Then, reloading the page the latest Nicepage version appeared.

Will require some more testing to see whether the problem will reoccur, but at least the work to date was saved.

Hope this helps someone in future.
