Hi George,

Please make sure that you have inserted the link into the Linkedin field and not into the Instagram. I cannot reproduce the problem on my end.

Hi George,

We've discussed the issue with removing the protocol with our developers and decided to allow pasting the external links with the protocol. The fix should be available in the future Nicepage updates.

Hi Olivia

The programmers should have enough work, let them know that the header overlapping does not work in WordPress. If there is any way to do it please let me know. See Attached Photo.

Hi George,

The option works fine on my end. You can enable the Overlap option for the Header on each page. Then when you view the corresponding page in WP, the header overlaps as it should. Please provide a link to the page where it does not work and also attach your theme exported as the Project.

Hi George,

Our developers have investigated the problem with the social icons protocol in the links. And that is what they have responded. The inserted address is processed as it should, but you do not see it at full length as it is. That is because the inserted string is long and it is stripped to a parameter. The main link is left without a protocol so when using these social icons on the live site, the site domain protocol is used and the social network can handle this query according to its rules.

NP inserting: //instagram.com before the link and become like this: //instagram.comhttps://www.instagram.com/tjsmykker/?hl=da, and therefore not working

Best regards Torben

George Ugalde,

We are sorry, for inconvenience.

Yes, we confirm that there is such bug, we will it in the next release.

For now, simply copy&paste only part after https://www.instagram.com/ (tjsmykker/?hl=da) and this will work.

Chris

Hi,

I am using the latest version 1.0.194 on my desktop version and I still have problems with the social icons.
Facebook inserts http://www.facebook.com in front of the actual facebook link. That I can correct by just adding the missing part but it is a bit annoying anyway.

When putting "linkedin.com/in/leena-matikka-25166457" to the link NP changes is to //linkedin.com/shareArticle?title=&mini=true&url=www.linkedin.com/in/leena-matikka-25166457

Also, the social icons box is not showing correct on mobile devices. In application and preview they are fine but on live mobile devices the icons are divided to two lines even though there is enough space to show them in one row. You cannot change the box width in application. Does not look nice.

Hi,

Social icons control creates shared links for your pages.
For Facebook, insert please username, it will add the link, or insert the full link, for example, https://facebook.com/_your_username_
For LinkedIn insert a full link with https - https://linkedin.com/in/leena-matikka-25166457 - it should work.
As for incorrect showing of social icons - do they show up correctly when you switch to Responsive views?

If not - you should align them for each responsive view.
If this does not help, please create a new private topic and provide more details about the issue.

I am also having the same problem with the social icons when adding a link to the Linkedin setting. Nicepage is adding "//linkedin.com/shareArticle?title=&mini=true&url=" to the URL. It doesn't matter how many times I copy and paste the correct URL, the software is still adding the extra information. I am having the exact same problem with the Facebook link. Nicepage is adding "http://facebook.com" to the beginning of the URL. I have version 1.0.228.

The problem is embarrassing because it's now on a live site for a customer and I can't find which file to edit out the extra URL information for that particular social icon. If I knew which file I could find where the link is being generated from, I can edit it on the server.

UPDATE

I think I found a work-around for this problem.

First, I found if I don't copy and paste the Facebook link in, and simply add the remaining URL information after the slash, Nicepage will not revert back to the http://facebook.com/ URL. It also doesn't appear to like https: in the URL either.

Second, I added "http:" in front of the two // on the LinkedIn link, and then omitted the extra fluff after the trailing / on the URL and added the remaining link information after the last / and it seemed to also take without reverting back.

Despite finding a work-around, I still think this is a bug and should be addressed in the next update.

CellarStudio,

Nicepage creates shareable links. If you need static links please use Icon control.
