Ask a Question

I have drop down submenus which all work fine in normal mode. When I go to a page in whcih I selected a hamburger menu should operate I can acces the sub menu pages but not the page to which the submenus are 'attached' so missing several key pages.

ie Page = Derek's Books
submenu = Derek's republished books

On opening hamburger menu I can access the second page but clicking on Dereks Books and nothing happens.

Hi,

And the is still the issue of a blog with 2 or 3 colums that is not possible...

Do you mean a Blog Template with posts in two columns? Please add a new Blog with a Grid control and insert Post control in each cell to create a 2 or 3 blog columns layout.

Hi,

For now we do not have a solution for this problem, but it is added to our wishlist for future considerations.

Hi Hella,

this is a killer-option for Nicepage. Every user will face this problem, some of us earlier, some of us later. There is no solution as you describe, so this is a big disadvantage beside other providers. If I had realized this before, I would never have decided for Nicepage. Please would you talk to your boss and ask for a solution? Other providers offer solutions for this, so I suggest the Nicepage should also do. Thanks for your efforts!

Sincerely,
Anja

Hi Jeff,

Unfortunately we have no other option for the menu on the touch devices. We'll consider your suggestions.

but that means you have to DUPLICATE The page in your menu in order for it to work for any device where you use the hamburger style menu..and if youchoose to use that on all your devices... thats fair enough but if you use the normal menu on a device it looks like no other menu on the internet and looks confusing for people who think its been added twice..it gives the impression it doesnt work. It needs changing...PLEASE!

check the pages listed on a mobile or tablet - The Minack Chronicles, Oliver Land
then check them on desktop and see how it looks...
nowhere will you find a normal menu on desktop listing a page twice in order for it work work as hamburger..if you can please show me :)

Hi Jeff,

That is exactly what I was talking about. That is behavior by default. The menu items that do have subitems are automatically converted to separators (menu items without links) to show the subitems in the mobile mode. That happens because touch devices do not have the hover action and you need to click on it to see the subitems.

dont think you understand me...when the hamburger menu is in use on responsive mode ie tablet/mobile...you cannot access a parent item!!! The only way to do so is duplicate the parent item as a subitem which then on normal mdoe ie desktop looks quite ridiculous :( Help

Please see the test site by clicking on this thanks (its a test site too big to upload here)
Have a look as desktop and then go to mobile mode and see the hamburger menu and you will see that essential pages are no longer available , the subitems are but not the parent item ?????????

Hi Jeff,

Do you mean that the parent menu item always works as a separator only? Does it happen in the responsive menu mode? In this case that is the correct behavior as in the responsive menu mode the menu items that do have subitems automatically work as a separator.
