Will Artisteer still be active?

Ask a Question

This year (2018) there were a couple of times where Artisteer (Win) would not save a Wordpress theme and showed an error contacting server (Artisteer server?). I've been an Artisteer user for many years and will continue to use it for existing sites. Will it continue to be available?

First look at Nicepage and so far... I don't like that Wordpress export has only option of Zip file. That makes it very difficult for developers to make simple updates - export theme to folder and ftp to site.

And, it appears that we can't add Primary sidebar to Pages... that won't work.

I'll continue to review...

Hi Ron,

Your only option for export is a zip file. What do you expect, that we're going to go through the Theme Installation process every time? And first having to delete the current Nicepage theme... Makes no sense for developers.

We added your request to our wish list.

And, there is no option to add sidebars to PAGES. I see where to add them on POSTS....

Posts template is used for both Posts and Pages. Blog template is for blog layout pages.

I also found that we can add multiple types of widgets to the footer but what about the widgets in the header and top and bottom in the body?

In general, the listed widgets and Position&Sidebat control which creates a regular wp widget area can be added to any place of the page. If you're referring to the theme creation, you can add these controls to the template in any place. The same is related to the content pages. But please note that the widget area is a theme feature. Therefore you should use Nicepage theme in order to work with widgets.

Please let us know if you have any further questions.

Thank you,
Olivia

You asked: Can you share what you mean by "very difficult for developers to make simple updates"

Artisteer is GREAT for developers. Looks like Nicepage is for... casual users.

Hi Ron,

Sorry for the delay.
There were temporary technical problems but we tried to solve them as soon as possible.
Currently, we do not plan to close Artisteer project.

And, it appears that we can't add Primary sidebar to Pages... that won't work.

In order to add a Primary sidebar to pages you need to open Post and Blog Template and enable sidebar:

enable-sidebar.png

The Sidebar should create corresponding widget area.

Did you try this option?

Thank you,
Olivia

I may have some solutions for you. In all Artisteer is ideal for that "get the site out ASAP" scenario.
