Ask a Question

Google just sent me the following email about the following site I created in Nicepage:

Search Console
Page indexing issues detected in generationaltransitionsofflorida.com
To the owner of generationaltransitionsofflorida.com:
Search Console has identified that your site is affected by 1 Page indexing issue(s). The following issues were found on your site.
Top Issues
Blocked by robots.txt

We recommend that you fix these issues when possible to enable the best experience and coverage in Google Search.

There is no robots.txt file in the site, so how could it be blocking the site from being indexed?

Nicepage should automatically create both a robots.txt file and a sitemap.xml file. These are must haves for web designers—or at very least you should have some instructions on how to create them until you get around to building them into Nicepage.

Hi Len,

What exactly does this error mean? Could you please provide a link to the validator so we could see it. We do not create robots.txt so indeed it cannot be blocking anything, maybe some false result from Google checker.
Anyway, the robots.txt file is in our wishlist.

I have no idea what this email from Google means, and I was hoping you would know what the email was talking about.

This is an official Google email telling me that 3 pages of my 4-page site (www.GenerationalTransitionsofFlorida.com) are not being indexed by Google because they are being blocked by the robots.txt file. However, there is no robots.txt file in the site files, so it makes no sense. A site with no robots.txt file is supposed to default to indexing all the pages in the site.

Have you had anyone else complain of this problem before? I guess I could figure out how to write a robots.txt file that specifically says to index all pages and not block any page from being indexed.

Hi Len,

This is the first time we get such a case and I'm те sure that we can suggest anything as we do not deal with robots file.
