Recovering lost website from published pages

I recall with Artisteer I was able to include the artisteer file in the .zip when I exported it so I'd have a copy of it on the website should I need it.

My Nicepage stopped working, somehow it looked like it was uninstalled. I installed a version I had in my downloads, that looks like it was an old version. Then when I tried to upgrade it, I basically went into an endloop of nicepage download/installing the new version over and over. It saw it was ready to install, but when I installed it, and restarted it want me to update again. However, most concerning, is that the websites loaded are way out of date and missing my recent work. I really can't afford the time to re-create all my work over!

Ok, I found the option to include project files with the .zip, unfortunately I did not have this check. I'm not sure why some of my websites have old changes though. I've looked through the nicepage/ folder under my documents and checked for other nicepage folders, there were none. Also not sure why my nicepage just disappeared, even my desktop icon gave an error that the shortcut was invalid. I'm sure there's nothing else that can be done.

Hi Robert,

In general, Nicepage installation process does not affect the folder with websites. Therefore reinstalling cannot remove project or changes in the projects.
Exactly what changes are lost (changes in one/many projects, new projects, etc, style changes/new pages)?
Did you notice any problems after the last Nicepage launch?

This is the 2nd time now that Nicepage tells me there's an update, which I click to download. Then I get a popup when the download is finished asking me to install. The process uninstalls the current nicepage, but then doesn't reinstall the new one. Instead I have to go to your website and redownload and install.

Hi Robert,

Could you please try disabling antivirus and then update the application. Nicepage update requires downloading the update files from our server. Most probably your antivirus prevents this.

Did it again this morning, I had not read this message until today. I'm using Windows Defender, should there be a log somewhere that the download was blocked?

Hi Robert,

Please try the following solution:

1) uninstall Nicepage
2) open Windows Explorer and type %APPDATA% in the address bar.
3) find and rename /Nicepage folder.
4) download the most recent Nicepage update from our website and install it.

This should help next time. If not we suggest that you try disabling antivirus before updating Nicepage.

Nicepage Desktop saves websites into the /Documents/Nicepage folder by default. But this folder can be changed under the Preferences if needed.

To create a backup of the website, you can export it as a project and keep the archive somewhere on your hard drive:

Please keep us posted about the progress.
