Troubles Uploading to WordPress

Hi there - I am having some issues uploading my site to WordPress. I am using Bluehost. I recently contacted them to increase the maximum upload file size value in the php.ini file. I am a newbie so I am really not sure what that means :) BUT I do have a large site I created and it just will not load. I told them the size of my zip file was 124 MB

It did all work when I uploaded a test run a few days ago (the site was 52mb), before I added all the additional pages. Now I have all my pages done and it won't work - yikes! I did have an issue then and do still now with my footer text also not appearing.... Perhaps I did something totally wrong all together.

Please advise! Thanks so much for your help! I would upload the file, but it is too large....

Vote to pay developers attention to this features or issue.

My internet is also very slow. I don't know if this matters. I wait about 20 minutes to eventually get an error message.

Hi KELSE,

I'm sure that the problem is in some settings on your hosting that are limiting the upload of such large files. Also they can limit the maximum time for the operation. You can try the FTP upload as a solution.

As for the footer text, maybe you have added the text into the positions inside the footer. Positions create the widget areas and do not transfer the content from the application to the site. You now need to add the corresponding widgets into those footer widget areas through the WP admin.

Yes! The manual FTP worked. It took me a little to figure out how, but I made it. I also discovered that changing the footer to add text instead of using the pre-made positions solved the issue. Thanks for your help!

Hi,

Just use the FTP option in the export dialog and insert the required details.
