Ask a Question

Hi,

We have just launched our site - https://www.telestore.ca, the site is hosted on SiteGround.com - however I see the site is loading quite slowly. When I ran a speed test using https://tools.pingdom.com/, I see that the reason is that the site is loading all images from the server where we developed the site which https://webserver3.ebiz.co.tz. How is this possible?

Please advice.

Gulam

Hi Gulam,

Our developers are aware of this issue and work on improving this behavior. The fix should be available in the future Nicepage versions.

Hi Olivia,

So what do I do now? I want to delete the site and all its files from the development server. When I do that, then the images on the production site are not displayed.

Is there a way out?

Gulam

Hi Gulam,

There are a lot of options. Since this task is related to the absolute URLs in articles and there is nothing specific to Nicepage you can search for possible solutions in google. For example, you can write a rewrite rule for .htaccess file or Apache config.

Hi Olivia,

Thanks for your response.

I am not sure I have understood your answer properly.

I developed the site on webserver3.ebiz.co.tz then backed it using Akeebabackup and restored it on our production server. At no point during development have I manually configured the absolute URLs to point to webserver3.ebiz.co.tz.

Now on the production server, I would expect the images to be picked locally BUT for some strange reason the images only (and not any other part ) are being picked from webserver3.ebiz.co.tz. If I rename the nicepage-images folder on webserver3.ebiz.co.tz, then the site loads without images.

Where exactly can I go and change the absolute paths to point to the local nicepage-images folder?

Gulam

Hi,

I think I have resolved this issue. I had to reload each image afresh.

Thanks

Gulam

Hi Gulam,

The images loaded from the dev server because they were loaded by absolute URL which points to the dev server. In the future, we'll fix it. In the meantime, you can either reload each image manually or change URLs on the server by rewriting rules or updating DB records if you know how.
anyway, we glad that you managed to solve this issue manually. Please let us know if you need our further assistance.
