I have the same problem after updating Nicepage "� "I had the same problem, but later when i actually deployed the website(its a german language site) it actually displayed the ö,ä,.. etc. like they were supposed to.

As a workaround, please export your project as Zip file (not Folder).

...That usually happens when you 'copy-paste' text to your website. I had to go over my website and re-do the text after 1.4 update. as well to get rid of those symbols.
Its also Bad when i open existing projekts and also Bad when i replace the text by Hand!
