Ask a Question

LINKEDIN definitely does not work. Nicepage keeps adding extra link garbage no matter what you type in the box.

I have tried it in Firefox as well as Chrome. Not 'quick preview' so please dont suggest that as an answer.

Here's what Linkedin adds: //linkedin.com/shareArticle?title=&mini=true&url=XXXXXXXXXX

Any help ?

Thanks

Hi!

I have also noticed this with the facebook link. The facebook automatically adds: http://facebook/ so if you copy and paste a url and paste it into the url box, the link is then http://facebook/http://facebook/YOURFACEBOOKACCOUNT

So nicepage tries to make things simple by adding the prefex or base site so all you need to do is add the: YOURFACEBOOKACCOUNT portion.

But if you simply want to copy and paste a link, its a pain and a bit more work. I had to make sure that I only copied and pasted the Account portion. There should be more logic to strip out duplication in the link...

I tried the just adding the account portion and it doesnt work. Whats even more odd is that things seem to NOT work at all and then somehow eventually do....even doing the same method each time !

Linkedin keeps adding:

/shareArticle?title=&mini=true&url=/MYUSERACCOUNTNAME

I FINALLY got Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to work after those didnt work either. I kept getting errors and then surprisingly is took it.

Nothing is working on Linkedin though. So strange that something EVERYONE needs - social media links- dont work easily and properly. I do like Nicepage but find some basic and simple things dont work correctly that really should.

This may help.

For me it worked to correct this line in the file / templates / html / "your template name" /com_content/article/default.php
// $ imageUrl = dirname (JURI :: current ()). '/'. $ image;
on the entry:
$ imageUrl = $ image;
The previous one generated a double image address.
Also note that Facebook pictures should be in the root directory / image / - if they are nested, they will not be displayed on FB.
I am surprised that NicePage can not solve such a simple problem and error that I have been writing to them for a month now.
I had to learn php myself, which is probably good for me anyway :)
